Michael Wheeler & The Silver Lining is the heartchild of songwriter, frontman, and creative force Michael Wheeler. Formed in Northern California in 2024, the band grew from Wheeler’s vision of building a sound that honors classic American songwriting while keeping it rolling forward with grit, groove, and modern edge. What began as a personal musical pursuit quickly evolved into a full-band project anchored by Wheeler’s voice, stories, and restless energy.
In 2025, Michael Wheeler & The Silver Lining recorded their debut album, White Collar Redneck, slated for release in March 2026. The record captures the foundation of Wheeler’s songwriting—insightful, lived-in lyrics paired with melodies that stick—and the band’s ability to turn those songs into something road-ready and real.
The band coined its sound “Rollin’ Country,” a style born from Wheeler’s deep influences: the storytelling of John Prine and Steve Earle, the outlaw spirit of Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, and Merle Haggard, the laid-back wisdom of Jimmy Buffett, and the raw rock ’n’ roll spark of Chuck Berry, Eddie Cochran, and the Rolling Stones. The result is a blend of honky-tonk, blues, classic country, and rockabilly, driven by catchy rhythms and an unmistakable sense of motion.
At its core, Michael Wheeler & The Silver Lining is an extension of Wheeler himself—songs shaped by experience, delivered with honesty, and backed by a band built to keep the wheels turning. White Collar Redneck marks the beginning of a project rooted in tradition, fueled by storytelling, and always chasing the next mile down the road.
